Green Screen Free Standing Curved Trellis System

Freestanding Curved trellis system basics

1. Load family into project
2. Family will load into Specialty Equipment Category
3. To place your first unit use a family type that ends in "First Panel", this family can be placed freely on the project
4. Once placed you can move element horizontally to a precise location if required
5. Attaching multiple units together
	a. Place first panel on project as described in steps 3 and 4
	b. Next place a unit that does not end in "First Panel"
	c. You can then either drag or move the unit into position with the previously placed panel
	d. Reference planes will allow you to snap object together properly
*It is easy to see clip placement if your detail level is set to high
	e. Lock panels together if desired
6. Adjustable Instance parameters
	a. Stack Panel (Allows you to easily stack on top of other panels)
	c. Finish
	d. Embed Height (adjusts how far the pole embeds into the ground)
	f. Vines (preset vines for rendering application)
7. Adjustable Type Parameters
	a. Square Pole (changes round pole to square pole)
	b. Panel Width (Max 12', with 2" increments)

Using render materials for trellis panel and vines

1. Un-zip material file into C:\Program Files\Revit Architecture 2009\Data\Rendering\assetlibrary_base.fbm\Materials\Hardwood\Presets
*material images are pre-mapped to this location
3. Load Family into Revit
4. Open Materials
5. Select Rendering
6. Select a Green Screen Trellis material or plant material
	- The jpg image under Image File should have a swatch in it.
If you see a swatch than process was successful.
If you do not see a swatch, follow the steps below

	b. Locate desired image file on you hard drive
	c. Select file and click open

Using Trim profiles with Trellis panels

2. In Revit 2009 under modeling tab choose create
In Revit 2010 choose model in place under Component
3. Choose Special Equipment category
4. Name family
5. Draw a Reference plane on back side of the trellis panel in plan view
6. Lock reference plane to trellis
7. Open instance properties for reference plane and name reference plane, Select ok
8. Change to appropriate elevation view
9. Choose Solid - Sweep from the modeling tool bar
10. Select sketch path from the tool bar
11. Choose reference plan created in steps 5-7, select ok
12. Sketch path for trim to follow, lock to trellis panel if desired
13. Finish path
14. Select profile from that was loaded into project at step 1
15. Change to perpendicular view of profile (if sketched in North/South elevation, change to East/West elevation)
16. You can now modify the X-axis, Y-axis, and angle of trim to fit the trellis panel if needed
17. Select sweep properties; select a Green Screen color from the material list to render correctly
18. Select ok to exit sweep properties
19. Select finish sweep
